The Channing Memorial Church Social Action Committee meets on the third Tuesday of every month (with the exception of July) at 7PM in the Channing House Library. To all who attended a Rhode Island U.U. Legislative meeting on Aquidneck Island last June:

The Home Energy Rate Affordability Act (H6079) is scheduled to be considered by the House Finance Committee this WEDS. OCT. 28th. PLEASE CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE to ensure his/her SUPPORT of the bill.

This Percentage of Income Payment Plan (H6079) enables residents earning at 150% or below the Federal poverty level to PAY no more than 6%, 7% or 8% of their income for electricity and gas.
